Mushrooms with golden berry sauce

Physalis are Inca or golden berries native to the Amazon region, yellow in color and with a sweet and sour citrus flavor. With them and a good chili you can make a delicious hot sauce that goes very well with mushrooms.

Choose the seasonal mushrooms you like the most and enjoy the potency of this recipe.


  • 1 kilo of mushrooms or assortment of mushrooms
  • 550 g fresh golden berries (peeled off)
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves
  • 2 yellow bell peppers
  • 1 jalapeno pepper
  • 250 ml extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon cumin
  • 2 tbsp coriander seeds
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 tablespoon sea salt
  • 3 limes (the juice and zest of the skin)
  • 2 cups julienned fresh cilantro
