Activated nuts, dried fruit and a little carob are enough to prepare delicious bars that will give you energy and minerals.
Carob will give your bars a touch of aroma reminiscent of cocoa and that combines very well with fruits and dried fruits.
Both figs and almonds give you good amounts of magnesium and calcium. Carob powder is rich in calcium, iron and B vitamins.
Ingredients
- 200 grams of raw almonds
- 150 grams of dried figs
- 3 tablespoons carob powder
Preparation
- Let the almonds soak in a bowl of water for about eight hours.
- After that time, strain them, wash them with water and crush them into small pieces.
- Then cut the dried figs, also into very small pieces, and mix the almond, carob and figs well until you get a moldable dough.
- Shape it into bars and they are ready to eat.
- You can eat the bars on the spot or keep them cold in the fridge for about four days. You can decorate them with almonds or pieces of dried figs.
The trick
The technique of soaking almonds for several hours has several advantages. On the one hand, it softens them so that the dough is easier to mold and the bars have a good texture.
On the other hand, it also “activates” them, that is, it starts the germination process (without germinating), which makes them more digestive.
